So you’ve got that website that was guaranteed to help you retire and write that bestseller in Mauritius before you turned 40.
Well are you retired?
Is your website significantly increasing your business?
How close is that Martini in Mauritius?
I’m starting a series highlighting things you can do in the next 10 minutes that WILL make your website convert better.
What does ‘convert better’ mean?
Choose something that you want a person visiting your website to do.
This could be anything that would move them along the ‘Visitor’ to ‘Client paying me money’ path: Buying your carefully crafted bricks online counts. Filling in their contact details on a form so you can stay in contact with them to prove and show exactly why your pool cleaner is the best on the planet – hell the best pool cleaner in the 300 odd billion solar systems – counts. Getting them to email you counts.
Getting them to DO anything on your website that helps you counts.
The more site visitors do the thing you want them to the more succesfully your website ‘converts’.
Too many websites say too much and confuse the crap right out of the visitor and convince them to decide ‘later’ just whether they’ll do business with you. Fact is if they leave your website without doing anything then ‘later’ is found right next to the Queen Elizabeth entry in the well known ‘What Never Comes?’ Encyclopeadia series.
